To all of us, actually. *g*

_________________________________

Yep. Three days, three drawings. OMG WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO, I know, I know... And what's more, today I'm finally posting something new! :o Well, all right, technically yesterday's drawing was new as well - sekhmet2 had very obviously seen it, but I hadn't posted it publicly anywhere.

Today's?

Nope, no one's seen it yet, not even her ;P

LINDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA d'you remember that surprise I'd mentioned, like, months ago? YEAH, IT'S HERE NOW. I'd actually wanted to wrap it up and give it to you as a birthday present, but... well. That didn't turn out too well, did it. :/

But I couldn't draw Sirius' face and leave out what he was looking at, now could I? ;D

The rest of you - I'm sorry, I'm not able to include the "full view" option yet! For the moment, it's just the mini thumbnail and medium thumbnail. I'll keep trying to tweak it - or find a gallery script that suits my needs better, and redo it from scratch ;P But that has to wait until the weekend at least, I just don't have the material time to do much more than this right now. Constantly on the move? WHY YES I MIGHT BE.

Love you all, and see you then! <3

First off-- I HAVE THE BEST FRIENDS EVER. Omg, thank you SO MUCH for all the well wishes (and the beautiful moments *g*) you sent me yesterday! ♥♥♥ And THANK YOU for all the lovely comments on the last entry - I'd meant to answer them tonight, actually. What I said to myself was: keep on posting the stuff you're behind on first! There, now get around to finishing the livelongnmarry page you've had half done for aaaages, upload it, post it, and then get to the rest.

I finished uploading it now, and I still haven't been able to tweak things around in order to show the larger version still. *sigh* But I really want to get it out of the way, so:

Yeah, I've decided not to post the original pictures here, or on any other blog and suchlike. There are reasons - but honestly, my eyelids keep sliding down on their own right now. :P I'll either edit it tomorrow, or expand on the matter next time I post one of the LLNM drawings. ;) The postings will be periodical - twice a month at least, I think, possibly always on the same day, but I have to decide which yet. Depending on when I actually get a, well, chance to. ^^;

Incidentally, that's also - more or less - the look my website is going to have, once I go back to working on it again :P More or less, anyway. How does that look?

Good night! LOVE Y'ALL! <333333333

<lj:music>Amy McDonald - This is the life, the tag on Mtv says</lj:music>

Yep. I amuse myself something silly. Whether I actually amuse other people is more or less secondary, I'm afraid.

Note for non-Discworld fans and other aliens: that's a... well, a Pterry thing. The one about Granny and Borrowing. I love that man so bloody much.

ANYWAY! Yes, I'm alive. ...and I'm going to have to get rid of the seasonal icons, ain't I. Ahem. I uploaded them in a burst of optimism and, er, never quite got to use them? Things have surely gone much differently from what I'd expected - well, from what I'd hoped, at any rate. Couple of family emergencies - not going into detail because it's not worth it, I promise - which, while not being much in terms of danger and suchlike (NOT THAT YOU'D HEAR ME COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT), did mean I was out of the house a lot. Like. A lot. Couple that with the fact that there's sleeping time to factor in (and I love sleeping time very, very much), and it might result in the Bruni fading away - at least as far as the internets were concerned. Not to mention me bailing out on a few commitments, couple of fests included, and BOY am I sorry about that -

- but I liked the prompts too much to let them be, and while I hadn't got around to finish the submissions, I HAD started them. So. You know. Not all hope's quite lost yet. :D

Besides that, while I was hopping from one journal to the other (the good old flist being more or less USELESS on that regard, seriously, it's like taking out seawater of the ocean with a spoon. Or keeping me away from chocolate) I've been seeing the usual Resolution Setting game going on - okay, so the journal hopping might have happened last week, but the concept stands. Seeing people promising themselves they were going to improve, take better care of themselves, love themselves more, do this, do that, I think I might be joining in.

My Very Serious Resolution for the new year

Finish catching up with the Discworld series before I turn 25 again.

It might be worth mentioning that audiobooks count (oh, the way they raise your desire to do the housework, it's kind of unbelievable - I do remember laughing my head off at Pterry's rewriting of the Iliad (or was it the Odissey?) while literally embracing the toilet*), that the Discworld For Younger Adults series does not, and that I have one (audio)book <strike>and a half</strike> left to listen to. I also have apparently more problems with being 26 than I did with being 25. ;P

(Relatively speaking, that. In all honesty, that was the first time I ever actually thought about the subject. :D)

* I WAS CLEANING IT. You know. In case you were wondering.

What? Wasn't I supposed to play it to my strengths? :P At least that's one resolution I'm reasonably sure to fullfill. ;) Happy New Year, everyone! (And a happy happy and very very belated birthday to remeciel and zoesmith, too!!)

ETA: Eeeek, I forgot to mention that apparently someone nominated my Snarry Games piece at the forbiddenawards! O_O My category is The Overexposed Award (Best Fandom Art): Fandom art created not for a specific story, but for general use. I have more or less no hope whatsoever to win it, not looking at the competition, but that someone nominated me to begin with is already brilliant enough, I say :D Whoever that was, thank you! ♥

You've been a part of my life for so long, you've affected me in so many ways (yes, of course all of them positive :P) that it's impossible to tell what I (or my life, really) would have been like if I hadn't <strike>clung to your back like an octopus</strike> met you. Whenever you need me, if I'm dumb enough not to realize it myself (and let's face it, this is a concrete possibility) just give me a shout. I'll do every single thing I can to be right there. ...yeah, yeah, mushy (not to mention embarrassing) much, I know, but English and the internets are the only language and place I'd be able to say it, it's a chance I've got to take. ;D And c'mon, they say it's the gifts, but public embarrassment is what birthdays (and families) are really for.

*sigh* And not only I'm disgustingly late (...though I had something precede me ;P), I also show up with a tenth of the gift I'd wanted to do for you, and a lame tenth at that :( Well... of course, this way it's a little subtler than it would have been otherwise. A little. And as with most ideas, it sounded a lot cooler when it was just in my head. ...and the even more dismaying aspect of it all is thinking that, over the years, you've seen me do a lot worse. ;P It's almost weird to think about.

Bottom line, I LOVE YOU. A LOT. And whoever tries to make you sad and upset WILL PAY. ♥

And now I'd better <strike>go to sleep, tomorrow I'll have to get up at FIVE</strike> set down to make something else that is long overdue... Oh jeez. ^^;

Also, the little wheel on my mouse keeps rolling up and down on its own. I myself had half a mind not to go - there have been some changes in my personal life, which meant that for the past two/three weeks I've been doing little more than running around between cities, dealing with offices, paperwork and the like and honestly, the prospective of a quiet weekend did look appealing.

...but I kept hearing things on the news, the way they've been butchering every single (PUBLIC) service we have, what they're planning to do to the whole scholastic system, what I know first hand, how they keep cutting on funds and cover it with talk of "reforming the public system", of "eliminating the slackers" - because whatever their reforms are doing, believe me, that ain't it. And you know what? I couldn't stay home. I couldn't stay put. What chance I had of making myself heard, no matter how small or ineffective, I had to take it. Not to mention how everyone everywhere seemed sure there'd be hardly anyone, that the Circus Maximus was too large to fill, that it'd be a flop.

Boy how many people there were. (2.5 millions of them, the organizers said, right before Veltroni's speech begun. Couldn't count them all myself, sorry...)

There were two twin marches going on, to split the partecipants somewhat, and I heard that the second one couldn't even get in. We were ahead enough so that we were in sight of the stand, but whatever we saw we saw on the megascreen next to it. Not that it mattered, the sound system was good enough that I could hear every word. And of course I clapped my hands, I couldn't help myself, I clapped them raw - and the absolute best thing was those times when you could feel the cheers raising behind you, far behind you, then getting bigger, coming closer, until it took the people all around you.

I am glad I went.

WOHOOHOO! I signed up for the Toefl! Oh man, I was so worried it'd be too late - exam's on the 17th and I know they only let you register until 7 days before the date.

...OKAY, SO TODAY IS STILL THE 9TH, but-- what if they considered dates differently? What if this? What if that? What if that other thing? :O And so forth and so on. But seriously, if dad hadn't managed to fix the modem by tonight (and just tonight he did) I would have been in trouble :( ...okay, okay, maybe not exactly "trouble", there would have still been the 31st, but. You know.

OH WELL.

Ha! Ha! One more thing before I go to sleep! There's this story I read and that I fell in love with - it's called The Great Divide, the second part is here, and it's a Dark Tower fanfiction. (Incidentally, I STRONGLY recommend you read the 7th book first, if you haven't.) Oh, and it's awesome. In case you were, like, wondering or something. It's driven, it's intense - and in the days after I read it I found myself working hard to keep the fanfiction facts separate from the canon facts, it fit in so well. Ha ha, I am so not joking.

And I'm shitty enough that I haven't posted a review yet! Grah! Granted, I have hardly been online lately, but that's no excuse :( Okay, maybe it is. STILL. I've printed it out (only way for me to read anything with some ease, really), though, so at least I can take my time when I try to compose it. I'm telling you, it won't be easy - I felt so much of it acting so deep down, that putting it into words is going to take some work. ;)

So, I'll be taking the TOEFL pretty soon - I'd been postponing it for a while, because (a) it's only valid two years (though I've got to admit that it makes sense) and (b) it's not exactly cheap either - so this afternoon I did a trial test a friend had got for me.

I find amusing (and telling) enough that the only part of it I had real troubles it was the one where I was required to answer a question and/or give a personal opinion. The problem wasn't the answer itself - but that I had only 60 seconds to give it. Dude, I'd barely started by then! (You also have about 20 seconds before that, to organize your thoughts and plan your answer. Most of those seconds were a complete blank. Thinking before I speak? How do you go about doing that?)

From the 20th through the 29th, if you have not participated to last year's edition and would like to be a part of the YuleTart world (oh boy, how do I even think that stuff up), you can nominate and/or second your favorite fandoms! (More <strike>coherent</strike> info in the post.) My choices were:

The Dark Tower

The Liquor series

Discworld

Antique Bakery

Mirai no Kioku/Kaze No Yukue

— which makes it three books (series) and two manga. (I love Saika Kunieda way too much for my own good. Oh boy, do I ever.) It hurt my heart to leave out Gerard and Jacques, though. ;P There are "visual" fandoms as well, of course (Torchwood, for instance), but... considering the discomfort I have in drawing those, I know I wouldn't have picked them out in the sign up form, so. ;)

If you like to draw, please consider signing up! It's fun and it's exciting and and and I just want to see it getting as biiiiig as possible. :D

pencilslingers has its first challenge! :D (Jeez, see what happens I'm not online for most of the week? D: I miss stuff like this, that's what!) The theme was Cuthbert (♥♥♥), and sadly it's almost over - I think either today, or tomorrow until the new one is posted. Wah, now I'm curious to see the next! And I hope I'll be able to do something for it, too. Because there's this thing called snarry_games that...

The RS Games archive I mentioned aaaages ago is now done! ♥ I posted it directly on remusxsirius, it made more sense... Boy, I just hope it'll work for other people as well as for me ;P

...anything I should pimp that I've missed?

  Oh!
I... should have been working on ENTIRELY different stuff, but when Lord Inspiration* calls, sometimes it's exceedingly difficult to resist. ;)

This is due to more than just one cause: first off, to the advent of pencilslingers, a Dark Tower based fanart-only comm (started by the lovely ani_bester) that recently joined after_the_king's side (and will soon be having weekly challenges. GLEE.) - but most of all, it's the latest issue of the DT comics that brought this on. I admit not to being overly in love with it - the art is beautiful, but it's also a little cold - which doesn't change the fact that it's so good to have more canon. If it can be counted as canon. (But he likes wearing dark suits and/or black shirts - sleeves rolled up for preference - every now and then.) What can I say, to each their own!

It's not good when you have to turn it off every quarter of hour because it overheats and shuts itself down, right...? And of course this happens on the one night with some decent online time available... oh well.

ANYWAY - omg am I excited about snarry_games. ♥ Oh, this is going to be fun - and I'm seeing some pretty awesome things already! Believe me, you have a right to expect awesome things from our team *g*

OH AND AND AND. yuletart - multi-fandom holiday fanart gift exchange - is starting again! I've only been glancing at the FAQ, I'll read it more throughly later, but I've been seeing that the girls have made some changes to the rule that I really, really like. Like Fandom Nominations: before signing up starts, the participants get to nominate up to five fandoms each or "second" the ones already there. I remember how worried I was, last year, as I was compiling my form. I had no idea of which of the fandoms I was listing was just rare, or flat out obscure. ;D

So, you'll be surprised (HAHAHA) to hear that two fandoms I really want to nominate are the Liquorverse (yep, the books by Poppy Z. Brite - the ones you've heard me mention again and again and again...) and The Dark Tower. Now, I was wondering - is there any artist on my flist who would back me up on either of them? Pretty please? ♥♥♥

Hahaha, reveals have been up for a while, haven't they... I have yet to update both masterlist (and take off the sign on my lj's main page, it doesn't make much sense anymore), but I thought that I'd better link to my submission first. ;P And answer your comments, too! A collective OMGWTFBBQTHANKYOU is so very much in order, before I get back to all of you. I just. ♥♥♥♥♥

Title: The Last Answer
Characters: Sirius. Then Remus. Then Sirius again. And so on...
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: men kissing, but nothing else.
Summary: About mending, taking risks, and second chances.
Notes: This is dedicated to all of my friends — for being there when I whine, for making me laugh when I need it (because, let's be honest, you always do need it), for laughing at my own (often fairly lame) jokes, for the shameless squeefacing, for the silly chatter, the deep discussions, the patience, the love. Thank you. So, so much. ♥

And thus we get to the fourth and last (so far) part of the mini arc I've done for the Games! I had actually signed up for two submissions for the second round as well (yep. I hate myself. Well known fact), but after talking to brighty18 I cut back to one - and boy am I glad that I did. I don't know, when you go down to it I did roughly half the panels I put out for the first round, but I had to work twice as hard to get anywhere. And the end result was something I did not like and was not proud of - though boy do I feel bad for saying so, especially after the reactions I got. :( Still... oh, I dunno. My best guess is that I was still tired from round 1. (Or that drawing the boys' older versions was hard, difficult, a pain, basically something I'm very simply PANTS at. ;P)

*scratches head* Well, as for the strip itself it's not like there's much to say, really, it's all on there... (In my mind) Sirius has just asked Remus to get back together, sometime after Azkaban, and he's waiting for him to say or do something. Maybe it's right after GoF - at first I'd thought of the OotP-era but, er, I think I might have gotten a little carried away with the length. :P If I remember well and Sirius got a haircut a year or two before, I'm not sure it would have got this long already by then... and oh boy, one thing TLA brought home is how much I do. Not. Like. Long. Hair. On. Men. I can't help it, I just don't. ;) The more I worked on it, the more it alternatively (a) put me in mind of Sadako/Samara from The Ring (couldn't help myself), or (b) made me feel like what Sirius's expression was really saying was something along the lines of "why do you hate me so much". :P It's canon and all so I had to, but next time he might find himself with his hair buzzed off. ;)

Or with an afro.

I could do the afro...

Ah! L'Ultima Risposta (i.e., the last answer) is a Subsonica song. It has also absolutely NOTHING to do with the strip. I just stole the title - though other options were "Breathe" and/or "Free". Free is kind of lame, but maybe I should have gone with Breathe. Oh well...

That's it for my own work - but it won't be the last time I'll be talking about the games. ;) So, stay tuned! ♥
